Tumei Tejas

Tumei Tejas uses a degenerative approach to video as a foil to mass media and the internet. Visual elements are reduced to iconic value and reassigned to mythological overlays or simulacra strategies.

Tumei Tejas is the alter ego creation of Jim Tuite.
He is a graduate of Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and School of Visual Arts in New York City. He has been creating experimental videos since 2007 and photography since the 1980s.

Tumei Tejas videos have been featured at the ExperiMENTAL festival, Classwar Karaoke, Omega Sound Fix I and Certain Circuits magazine. Other works by Jim Tuite, which include paintings, photographs and interactive media, have been exhibited in the Philadelphia region and in NYC.

Tumei Tejas has collaborated with Robert L. Pepper, Mike Durek/Richard Lainhart, SK Orchestra, Cloud Cloud, Bonnie MacAllister, Lora Bloom, Patrick Morris, Robert Batey, Victor Thompson and Gestaltnosering.
